Celebrate College Basketball Day March 26 at Baseball Hall of Fame

Special basketball-baseball programming slated for Friday

COOPERSTOWN, NY – With college basketball tournaments filling the minds of sports fans in Central New York this weekend, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is providing fans a chance to combine their passion for baseball and basketball with several programs on Friday, March 26, celebrating the relationship between the two sports.

Special programming for Friday, March 26, at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown will feature several events throughout the day, including:

  • Science on the Sandlot, 11 a.m., Education Gallery, A hands-on program for all ages taking a look at the science behind the game.
  • Artifact Spotlight, 1 p.m., Education Gallery, A closer look at some of the Hall’s treasures featuring a bat used by Michael Jordan while playing with the Double-A Birmingham Barons and a bat used by Dave Winfield – the only Hall of Famer who also played in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament – to hit his 400th career home run.
  • So You Think You Know Baseball, 4 p.m., Bullpen Theater. Test your baseball and basketball knowledge in this fun trivia contest for visitors of all ages.

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is located just 90 miles from Syracuse, a short drive east on Interstate 90 to Exit 30 and then south on Route 28. For more information on the Baseball Hall of Fame, please visit www.baseballhall.org.

Open seven days a week the year round, with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day, the Hall of Fame is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. until Memorial Day Weekend. Summer hours extend until Labor Day, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily. Ticket prices are $16.50 for adults (13 and over), $11 for seniors (65 and over) and for those holding current memberships in the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion and AMVets organizations, and $6 for juniors (ages 7-12). Members are always admitted free of charge and there is no charge for children six years of age or younger, active and retired card-carrying military personnel.
