Founded in 1939, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is the oldest and most well known sports museum and Hall of Fame in the world. The Museum is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational institution dedicated to fostering an appreciation of the historical development of the game of baseball and its impact on our culture by collecting, preserving, exhibiting and interpreting its collections for a global audience, as well as honoring those who have made outstanding contributions to our National Pastime.
Individual contributions are critical to fulfilling these goals.
Your contribution will support:
Your support helps us to provide rich learning experiences for children across the country. Utilizing video conference technology, students and teachers participate in 16 standards-based interactive lessons, led by Museum educators. Our award-winning program transports the wonders of Cooperstown to classrooms far and wide. In addition to these daily lesson plans, our annual electronic field trip, focusing on a relevant societal topic, reaches more than 10 million school children.
Many of the items in our collection can benefit from professional conservation, this work preformed at specialized labs preserves history and ensures their legacy in perpetuity. Among the many pieces recently conserved were gloves worn by Joe DiMaggio, Bill Mazeroski and Ty Cobb, as well as the fielder’s glove Babe Ruth used during the 1926 World Series. Your support will ensure that this important work continues.
The support of fans ensures that we are a world-class history museum. Every day we recount the story of baseball and its impact on the American experience and our culture. The history of our National Pastime has mirrored our Nation’s history since Civil War times, and has been a part of our heritage since America was founded. Your generosity will ensure that we continue to preserve the important relics of our National Pastime and share these inspiring stories with visitors from around the world.
