Hall of Fame Education Programs

Enriching Education

Introduction

Beyond being a world-class history museum, the Hall of Fame delivers educational programs to more than 25,000 students across North America annually.  Our award-winning curriculum uses
baseball as a lens to teach core classroom topics including math, science, character education, geography and women’s history. In addition to the 5,000 students who visit the Museum in person each year to participate in this program, we connect with schools across the nation. Utilizing video conference technology, we reach an additional 20,000 students annually to provide an enriching educational experience. Each program, led by a member of our professional teaching staff, provides students with a meaningful and fun learning experience.  With your donation, education will continue to be a hallmark of the Hall of Fame’s mission.

immediate Goals

The Baseball Hall of Fame has been at the forefront of distance learning technologies for nearly a decade. The Museum’s programs are respected within the field, as guidance is often sought by other institutions seeking to launch their own education programs. Our goal is to ensure that the delivery of our Museum programs remain atop the ever-changing technology curve. More importantly, success in this goal will allow expansion and outreach to new audiences. We have three immediate needs:

  • Increase Outreach – This will be achieved by lowering the technology barriers for schools that currently exist: For instance, the use of widely available software programs that lower the cost of technology schools need to connect to the Hall.
  • Increase Awareness and Visibility – This will be achieved by increasing our proactive marketing to teachers and administrators at schools across the country.
  • Improve Quality and Experience – This will be accomplished by taking advantage of new and developing technologies which allow for more dynamic use of audio and video content along with providing a more immersive virtual experience of the Museum.

Fundraising Needs

We have set a fundraising goal of $400,000, to ensure the continued success and growth of the Museum’s educational initiatives over the next two years. This funding will allow us to continue to build upon the strong foundation built over the last 22 years, during which time more than $4 million dollars has been invested into the program. Your donation will:

  • Support our talented professional education staff, including continued professional development.
  • Promote the Museum’s programs to schools across the country.
  • Upgrade the Museum’s aging video conference equipment.
  • Continue development of our existing modules to ensure that they continue to meet national education standards.
